Why we built a luxury probiotic made only for small dogs.
Dog Diva Co started with one picky little diva — and one very tired dog mom.
Like so many small-dog parents, our founder spent years on the same exhausting loop: the soft-serve tummy would come back, she’d order yet another probiotic, it would help for a week… and then she’d be back to cleaning the rug, fighting to get her dog to eat the chew, and eyeing the “super premium” option — about to start the whole cycle over again.
The problem with “scaled-down” supplements
Here’s what almost no one talks about: a small dog doesn’t have a shrunk-down Labrador’s gut. Newer canine research shows small dogs differ most in the colon — transit time, fiber fermentation and short-chain fatty acid production — which is exactly where a probiotic does its work.
Yet nearly every product on the shelf is designed for a medium dog and “scaled down.” One chew “for dogs up to 25 lbs,” so you break it in half for a 6-lb body and just hope the dose is right.
